Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central – Essentials vs. Premium
The Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Cloud for SMEs unites processes and lets companies efficiently manage their finances, sales, projects, service, merchandise management as well as manufacturing and production in one system. The software solution can also be individually extended and adapted with smart office services such as Microsoft PowerApps, Microsoft Flow and Microsoft Power BI. The functionalities of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Cloud can be used mobile on all end devices so that your flexibility is guaranteed at all times. Linking to Microsoft Office 365 and other Office services enables processes to be linked and automated to work more efficiently. You also benefit from the familiar Office interface, which simplifies operation and familiarization. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Cloud grows with your business and unites systems and processes. Cloud means that you subscribe to the product, i.e. “rent” it. You do not need your own IT infrastructure.
The Essentials version contains the following functions:

The Premium version includes two additional features:
- Manufacturing (only included in the PREMIUM version*)
- Service Management (only included in PREMIUM variant*)
*The premium version contains the extended functions service management and manufacturing or production. In addition to service orders, service price management, service item management and service contract management, service order management also includes planning and scheduling. The manufacturing and production module includes work centers, manufacturing orders, a demand forecast, agile manufacturing, a finite load, basic supply planning, capacity planning, and version management.
Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central – Team Members
You can also add Team Members licenses to your licenses. This allows you to view data and reports as well as access basic processes. In addition, limited read, write and approval functions are included so that each employee receives the authorizations required for his or her work. The version also includes an Employee Self-Service. This means that your employees can enter, display, and change personnel-related data themselves, simplifying and speeding up personnel department processes. The following functions are included:
